Tutorial Summary

After listening to an audio teacher's brief explanation of podcasts and radio audio, we learned invaluable information needed to record audio for our broadcasts. There are two types of microphones, but the one used for radio/podcasting is a dynamic microphone. Dynamic microphones are best for podcasts and broadcasts because they don't pick up background noise. The microphone needs to be connected to the audio interface connected to your device. We use this equipment when we want to record broadcasts in the school's radio room. However, once we decided to record elsewhere, we used our phone to record. The audio teacher showed us a technique for recording audio using a phone, using one phone as a microphone and the other as a camera. Finally, the audio and video are edited, and the audio is overlaid by the microphone and synced to the video. This is done to ensure good audio quality, as recording audio and video with the same phone will result in poor audio quality. Of course, we don't record video, so there's no need for a second phone to act as a video recorder.
